The region Spain of this website currently includes 48 climbs, which is just a small part of all notable ascents in this country with its many, many sierras (mountain ranges). Like often during the Vuelta, the focus of this website lies on the Cantabrian Mountains, which runs from west to east, parallel to and at a distance of about 50 kilometers from the north coast of Spain. There is information on the two most famous climbs of Spain, El Agliru and Lagos de Covadonga. Cycling in Spain means enjoying surprising and varied landscapes, and riding on quiet roads with mostly cautious drivers and an amazingly good surface. Unfortunately these roads are often unnecessarily wide and therefore less idyllic.
