This climb starts in El Burgo.
During the first seven and a half kilometers, the road climbs
through a pretty green landscape.
There is a three kilometer section with a slope that is
fairly constant and moderately steep (7.4% on average).
This is the hardest part of the ride.
Two surprises await after those seven and a half kilometers.
The first is a steep descent (94 elevation meters).
In the beginning of that descent, the landscape
suddenly becomes arid.
Such a type of quick change is typical for Andalusia.
During the relatively easy end section (2-7%)
one can see the Puerto del Viento from far away.
From the pass itself the city of Ronda is visible in a westerly direction.
