The climb to the Puerto Las Señales from Puebla de Lillo is relatively easy. The first 4.5 kilometers are almost horizontal (-1 to 3%), whereas almost all 500 meter segments of the remaining 7 kilometers have a gradient of 6 or 7%. The steepest kilometer, just before the pass, has a gradient of 7.4%. So this climb is a pleasure also because there is almost no motorized traffic and because the forested mountain landscape with its beautiful rock faces is wonderful. The asphalt surface is of moderate quality (as of 2022) while the road is a little narrower than most other pass roads in Spain.
