The landscape of the climb to the Alto de Pedras Apañadas from the valley of the Río Navia is very green, just like whole Galicia region, the so-called 'green corner' of the Iberian Peninsula. Thanks to the trees, there is little view during the climb, but maybe we have missed some views because we were largely cycling in the fog. However, we enjoyed views on the beautiful valley of the Río Navia in the first few kilometers. From a sporting perspective, the climb is not really exciting. The cyclist has to overcome 905 meters of altitude and all but two 500-meter-segments slope between 5 and 8%. There is hardly any traffic.
