This climb bridges a large number of elevation meters (1290 m). Since there are few cars and road conditions are fair, it certainly is appropriate for race bikers. The first 6 kilometers with a slope between 3 and 5% are not but a warming up. Then, in Entraunes climbing becomes more serious with a slope of 8% for most of the remaining 13 kilometers and ~1000 elevation meters. With ~5 km to go, the road bends to the left to aim for the col making some hair pin turns. Road conditions are fair and, perhaps because I was late, I saw no other race bikers.
