This short (3.5 km) climb from the south to the Lorena Pass is highly recommended. The road is viciously steep with an average gradient of 10.1% and a steepest kilometer (the last stretch up to the pass) of 11.5%. The road is pleasantly narrow, so oncoming cars cannot easily pass each other. In addition, the landscape is wonderful. The foreground is dominated by the high, green hills of the Bregenzerwald and in the background lie the mountains of the Lechquellengebirge. If you're lucky, like me, the highest parts of the mountains are covered with snow. Attention! The ascent does not begin in Schwarzenberg but when crossing the Losenbach.
