This is a short and relatively easy climb (only 431 metres of elevation gain), starting from the village of Les Haudères in the Val d’Hérens. For the first just over two kilometres, the route coincides with the ascent to Ferpècle. Here the gradient is almost constantly 9%. At the junction of the two climbs, continue straight ahead and then ride uphill via the villages of La Sage and Villa. The 3 kilometres that remain after the junction are, from a sporting point of view, more varied than the section before the junction, with gradients ranging between 7 and 9%, while the views of the very high mountains become ever more expansive and impressive. The ride ends abruptly at the seemingly arbitrary point where the asphalt stops. Noteworthy in this region, and especially in La Sage, are the beautiful, well-maintained houses. The dark wood harmonises perfectly with the red flowers.
