The climb from the east to the Passo Falzàrego is not necessarily the most interesting ascent in the Dolomites. There is quite some traffic and with a steepest 500 meter interval of 8% the road is nowhere really steep. The trip is almost precisely heading westward and begins in Cortina d'Ampezzo at the bridge across the river. The first two and a half kilometers are mostly running through inhabited areas but already offer many views of the mountains all around. Then the road dives into the forest and reaches Pocòl two kilometers further on. From here just over ten kilometers remain to the pass. Mostly the slope measures 7% but in the section between kilometers 8 and 10 (from Cortina) the road is almost horizontal. From Pocòl and in the first few kilometers after this settlement you have, on the right side, an impressive view of the Tofane (3244 m).
