The final two kilometers of this short climb are particularly steep. This part includes one of the steepest kilometers of the Black Forest (14.6%). Also two 250 meter sections are the steepest ones in the Black Forest, with slopes of 17 and 19%. The last and hardest of these two sections was so utterly steep that I had to stand on the pedals in order to avoid falling. From the starting point in Ottenhöfen one first heads towards Allerheiligen. After one and a half kilometers one turns to the right in Unterwasser into a street named Wolfersbach. From here the route runs uphill along a badly asphalted road with almost no traffic through a beautiful valley with farms and meadows. The first kilometer is still only moderately steep (6-8%). Then the two infernal last kilometers appear. There are no signs to Sohlberg on the way. Always choose the logical continuation and take the road to the left at a bifurcation one kilometer before the end, where the choice is really difficult.
