The Kreuzweg-east is a long, relatively easy climb across quiet, well paved roads through scenic valleys. The tour consists of two parts. The first part begins in the village of Wembach in the Wiesental. At first the L131 winds through a forested valley with some farmlands. The first 5 kilometers are relatively easy with slopes up to 5% but these are immediately followed by the steepest kilometer (9.4%) of the tour just before the hamlet of Oberböllen. The next kilometer is somewhat easier (8%) and ends at the first col (Hau, 825 m). A short descent to the small village of Neuenweg (722 m) in the Kleines Wiesental finishes the first part. After Neuenweg the road starts to climb again and after 2 kilometers at Auf der Eck a wide valley opens, with beautiful farmlands surrounded by high, forested hills. After an almost horizontal part of around a kilometer the slope increases again (7%). The junction with the L130 to the Münstertal is passed and after two hairpin bends the Kreuzweg (1071 m) is reached.
