On this ascent to the Hochtannbergpass, starting in Schoppernau, spectacularly shaped, steep peaks tower above a green landscape. So this is wonderful but don't cycle here on a beautiful summer day in the weekend. On such days, hordes of motorcyclists and other traffic drive here, which is unpleasant, especially in the tunnels. The first eight kilometers are pretty easy (average slope 3.6%) with two short, somewhat steeper sections (8%). Shortly before the village of Unterboden, the road becomes steeper, which does not change for the next six kilometers. These slope 8.6%, on average, but the percentages vary a lot. About halfway through these six kilometers, at Schrocken, the road lies on a spectacular bridge with a hairpin bend. The last of these six kilometers is the steepest of the ride (9.8%) . It is followed by the final 2 kilometers of the trip, which are a child's play (3%).
