Tiergrüble is a pass east of Schönau, a village lying in the Wiesental. The ascent from Schönau runs largely over a very narrow street with almost no traffic and is therefore very attractive for cyclists. Only during the first one and a half kilometers, one cycles on a slightly more busy road, which leads towards Tunau. Then, at a fork of the road one turns to the right onto the narrow street (Fuchswaldstraße). From here to the pass the street passes through the forest. Hence, with the exception of the last few hundred meters, views are scarce. During the first two kilometers the narrow road is quite steep (7-9%). Then the ride becomes slightly easier (5-8%). About one kilometer before reaching Tiergrüble, the state of the road surface, which was so far almost perfect, switches into its opposite. Also, the last kilometer is damn steep (9.5%).
