Follows road number 19 from Oberwald in the Rhone valley up the height of the Furkapass. From a touristic point of vue, this is an interesting ride. From the location called Belvédère paying visitors can walk to the remnants of the Rhone glacier. In the middle of the 19th century this glacier was much longer and ended near the hotel in Gletsch. Much of the climb is moderately steep (6-7%) but there is a steeper part between kilometer 4 and 6 (8-9%). The steepest kilometer of all (10,3%) is found after some 13 kilometers cycling in the middle of a section with eight hairpin bends, just before the Belvédère. Traffic density is average.
