The short (6.2 kilometer) climb from Götzis to Millrütte is a ride for the real mountain specialist. The first one and a half kilometers through Götzis and its outskirts are nothing special (6-7%) but the remaining 5 kilometers are extremely steep. All but one of the nine 500 meter segments have a gradient of at least 10%, five even have a gradient of 13 or 14%. Fortunately, the easiest section within these 5 kilometers is located in the middle, so that one can recover a little there. The most scenic part of the ascent are the last 3 kilometers, in which the road winds up through a valley with meadows, forest, farms and here and there other buildings. In Millrütte there is an inn with a terrace, a good place to review the heroic efforts just made. The road itself is narrow, very quiet and excellently paved.
