With just less than 700 elevation meters, this ascent from the Montafon to Gargellen is a nice training ride. If you cycle on the road through the Montafon from Bludenz, the climb begins at the first junction to Gargellen. The first one and a half kilometers are still easy (2-6%) but after the T-junction at Galgenul climbing becomes strenuous. Soon there is a section with a length of two kilometers and an average gradient of 10.2%. This is the hardest part of the ride. After that another six kilometers remain, initially with a slope of 7-8% and further on mostly less steep (4-7%). The final few hundred meters are again a little harder (10%). The finish lies at a T-junction, just before a bridge. The road surface is excellent throughout the trip (in 2021) and there is pretty little traffic.
