This is at present (January 2016) the easiest (148 climb effort points) of my collection of ascents in the Vosges. It begins in Travexin at the bifurcation of the D486 and the D43. We folllow the latter road through a wide valley with the village of Ventron in its centre. Mostly, views are wide but not utterly impressive. The steepest part of the climb (6.4%) is found some two kilometers before its end, just before reaching the collection of houses called Mont d'Oderen. Here forests replace the cultivated lands and the houses of the lower part of the trip.
